Car Shipping: Tesla Coming To Ireland

tesla irelandTesla, the world’s leading makers of electric cars, are coming to Ireland. As it currently stands, only a limited few nations have had Tesla cars on their roads due to the company’s desire to “slowly roll out its infrastructure of charging stations, which allow a Tesla owner to charge their car for free.”

Irish Tesla fans have no need to look to the UK with envy as Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that the company is coming to Ireland later this year.

Tesla’s map of superchargers, shows four installations planned for Ireland with one each for Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast. As Silicon Republic reports “Tesla cars are able to charge off the existing charging point infrastructure established and run by ESB Networks, Tesla’s own charging points will be established to work with its own technology.”

At the moment there are only three registered Tesla cars in Ireland. These were most likely ordered and shipped over from the UK, where they have been on sale for some time.

Tesla made international news at the start of April when they announced the Model 3, their first affordable electric car. The company heralded the car as “a huge step towards a more sustainable future.”

While still a year away from hitting roads, the Model 3 far exceeded expectations by taking in more than 325,000 reservations to date.
