Congrats to the FIATA Diploma Grads!

On the 12th September, the Irish freight shipping industry sailed past a couple of huge milestones. The Irish International Freight Association celebrated the tenth anniversary of its FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding at the ceremony for this year’s graduation. Spratt Personal Shipping wants to congratulate the 31 newly qualified diploma holders on their hard work over the last ten months.

We look forward to working with you as you bring your new skills to our shared industry, and we applaud your dedication to excellence in shipping!

The FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding is a rigorous grounding in all aspects of the industry including logistics, air freight, sea freight, road transport, multi-modal transport, dangerous goods, insurance, information technology and customs. The diploma grew out of previous training programmes, and it takes professional standards to new levels. Materials are updated annually so graduates have a handle on cutting-edge developments in the industry. This year’s 31 FIATA Diploma  Grads come from a range of backgrounds encompassing private industry and the military, and the cohort includes youngest ever graduate – a fourth-year student in secondary school doing his work experience.

Spratt is Proud to Be Part of the IIFA

Spratt Personal Shipping is proud to be part of the IIFA, Ireland’s longest-serving representative body for the freight forwarding industry. The Diploma in Freight Forwarding is only one of the educational programmes the IIFA provides, and education is only one part of the organisation. The organisation began in 1962 to coordinate the voices of those in the freight forwarding industry to ensure the most efficient movement of goods between Ireland and the rest of the world.

Most of Ireland’s manufacturing output is for export. Ensuring those goods move out the country and arrive at their destination safely, quickly and without unnecessary hassle is critical for the national economy. The IIFA represents 120 companies, including Spratt Personal Shipping, employing a combined total of more than 3,000 people. We are one of the very few in the IIFA who provides a transport and warehousing service to freight forwarders, so we feel we play a special role. We’re proud to be part of this organisation striving to provide a superior service. And we are delighted that another 31 new experts are joining our ranks. Welcome and congratulations!
