Last month, Spratt Personal Shipping shipped a gift from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to Irish mixed martial arts superstar Conor McGregor, ahead of his fight against world champion Jose Aldo.
Spratt specialise in shipping cars all over the world and have handled many famous vehiclesfor high profile people, but few shipping deliveries have given Spratt such satisfaction as McGregor was personally on hand along with UFC fighters Gunnar Nelson and Artem Lobov to collect the vehicle from our Managing Directors Pady & Sam Spratt.
The car was a reward from the UFC for Conor beating Chad Mendes in Las Vegas and winning the interim featherweight title in the process.
Beating Mendes has set McGregor up for a mandatory bout with the undefeated champion Jose Aldo at UFC 194, the pound-for-pound world number #1. Aldo previously pulled out of a scheduled fight with an injury, leaving an interim belt which now needs to be unified one way or another.
UFC 194 will air live on BT Sport at 3 AM Irish time on Sunday morning, with the main event expected to take place at around 5 AM. Due to this, many pubs and bars don’t have a licence to screen the fight.
Spratt have compiled a list of the few venues confirmed to be showing the fight live in Dublin:
- The Living Room
The Living Room are holding a ticketed, no alcohol event. Doors open at 3 AM. Tickets, which must be pre-purchased, are on sale for €20.
Alternatively, in the same complex as the Living Room is Murray’s. They are screening the fight upstairs and are also charging €20 for a ticket. During McGregor’s fight against Chad Mendes the UFC filmed the fan reaction in Murray’s and played a clip of fans celebrating Conor’s victory worldwide.
- Sin Nightclub
SIN Nightclub will be showing the entire UFC event live. Their setup includes two 10 foot screens and 4 smaller plasma screens around the nightclub. Tickets are on sale for €15. SIN hosted the official UFC after party after the promotion’s debut in Dublin’s 3 Arena.
